Built around the LM2596 step-down switching controller, this module accepts an input between 3 and 40 V and delivers an adjustable 1.5-35 V rail, so one board can feed sensors, radios or logic from an unregulated battery or vehicle supply. Switching conversion wastes far less energy as heat than a linear regulator across a wide input-to-output difference.
