This policy explains how returns and refunds work at Bolton Technical Equipment Supplies LLC SPC (“BOLTON”). Because much of our catalogue is sourced or procured to order for professional and industrial use, our returns process is authorisation-based rather than automatic — please read the sections below before sending anything back.
Return Authorisation Comes First
All returns require prior authorisation from BOLTON. Contact us before shipping any item back, quoting your order or quotation reference, the item(s) concerned and the reason for the return. If a return is authorised, we will confirm the return address and any handling instructions. Items returned without prior authorisation may not be accepted or processed.
Items That May Not Be Returnable
Because BOLTON supplies technical and procured-to-order goods, the following categories are generally non-returnable unless BOLTON supplied the wrong item, the item is damaged on delivery, or a valid defect or non-conformance is confirmed:
- Special-order, procured-on-request or customer-specific items sourced for your order or quotation
- Documentation-sensitive goods — for example, items supplied with certificates of conformity, test reports, calibration records or traceability documentation tied to your order
- Opened or used items, and items that have been installed
- Cut-to-length items and calibrated items
- Electrical and electronic items
- Safety and PPE items
- Hazardous or chemical items
- Non-standard items, and other items identified as non-returnable at quotation or order stage
If you are unsure whether an item is returnable, ask us before ordering — ideally at RFQ stage, so any return conditions can be confirmed on your quotation.
Condition of Returned Goods
Where a return is authorised, items should be unused and in their original condition and packaging, where applicable, including any accessories, fittings and documentation supplied with them. BOLTON may issue a reduced refund or credit, or decline the return, where items are incomplete, used, damaged, missing packaging, accessories or documentation, altered, or otherwise not in returnable condition, subject to inspection.
Wrong, Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive an item that is wrong, damaged in transit or defective, contact us as soon as possible after delivery. These cases are handled individually: we will review the details with you, may ask for photographs or supporting information, and will agree the appropriate remedy — replacement, repair, credit or refund — based on what the review finds.
Inspection Before Refund or Credit
Returned items are inspected on receipt. Refunds or credits are issued after inspection confirms the condition of the goods and the circumstances of the return. If inspection raises questions, we will contact you before confirming the outcome.
Return Shipping Costs
Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, unless BOLTON confirms that the item was wrongly supplied, that a valid defect exists, or that damage occurred before delivery and is attributable to BOLTON, its supplier or the shipping process. Returns must not be sent without prior authorisation from BOLTON.
Return Window
Eligible return requests must be raised within 7 calendar days from delivery, and remain subject to BOLTON’s approval and inspection.
Restocking Fee
BOLTON may apply a reasonable restocking or handling fee where applicable. Any applicable fee will be confirmed as part of the return authorisation.
Refund Method and Timing
Refunds or credits are issued only after BOLTON receives, inspects and approves the return, within a reasonable processing period after approval. Where a credit is agreed instead of a refund, we will confirm this with you in writing.
Contact
