About the 3M Scotch-Blue Premium Masking Tape 48
Scotch-Blue is 3M’s blue painter’s masking tape line: a crepe-paper backing carrying a pressure-sensitive adhesive, intended to mask an area during painting or coating and then be removed cleanly, without tearing the backing or leaving adhesive residue on the masked surface. The crepe backing conforms around mouldings, curves and light surface irregularities, and the paper allows the tape to be torn to length by hand rather than cut. This roll of 3M Scotch-Blue Premium industrial adhesive tape is 48 mm wide and 54.8 m long, the metric equivalent of the two-inch by sixty-yard roll, which is the general-purpose width for edge masking on panels, frames and equipment. Clean-removal behaviour depends on the surface, the coating applied, ambient conditions and how long the tape is left in place; the applicable clean-removal period and surface list are given in the manufacturer’s product data sheet, which BOLTON can provide with a quotation.
