About the JST WC-PUD1 Hand Crimping Tool 22-26
The WC-PUD1 is JST’s hand-operated ratcheting crimp tool for the PUD series. As a JST WC-PUD1 Hand technical component it is built around a precision ground die assembly containing three separate cavities, one each for 22 AWG, 24 AWG and 26 AWG conductors, together with a locator and wire stop that set terminal position and strip length repeatably. Wire is presented from the side of the tool. The ratchet mechanism is factory pre-set: once a cycle begins the handles cannot reopen until the dies have fully bottomed, which prevents a partially formed crimp from being released and passed on. The handles are ergonomically shaped with soft grips for repeated bench use. The tool is specified for crimping JST SPUD-001T-P0.5 un-insulated crimp terminals onto conductors within the 26 to 22 AWG range.

Typical applications
A three-cavity ratcheting tool of this kind is used for bench and field termination of small production runs, prototype harnesses and repairs where an applicator press is not justified. The fixed pre-set ratchet makes it suitable for work that has to be evidenced against a crimp-height or pull-test acceptance criterion, since incomplete cycles cannot be released. Confining the die set to SPUD-001T-P0.5 terminals means the tool should be controlled and issued alongside those terminals rather than treated as a general-purpose crimper.
