About the 243 Industrial Adhesive
LOCTITE 243 is a single-component anaerobic threadlocking adhesive of medium strength, supplied here in a 50 ml pack. It is a blue, thixotropic dimethacrylate-ester product that cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces, locking and sealing threaded fasteners against loosening from shock and vibration. As a medium-strength grade it is intended for fasteners that must stay secure in service yet remain removable with standard hand tools. The formulation works on all metals without a primer, including passive substrates such as stainless steel, aluminium and plated surfaces, and it tolerates light contamination: it cures through most corrosion-prevention oils and cutting fluids found on as-received fasteners. Its thixotropic behaviour limits migration of the liquid after application, keeping the product where it is dispensed on the thread.

Typical applications
