About the Countersunk Head Cap Screw M3x10 Stainless
This fastener is a countersunk head cap screw, M3 thread by 10 mm length, in grade A4 stainless steel, made to ISO 10642 — the international standard covering hexagon socket countersunk head screws. Screws to this standard have a flat-topped conical head with an internal hexagon drive, designed to sit flush in a countersunk hole so the assembled surface remains smooth, with the socket drive allowing installation in recessed or closely spaced positions where spanner access is impossible. The A4 marking in the designation identifies an acid-resistant austenitic stainless steel grade, commonly selected for its improved corrosion resistance in chloride-bearing and marine-influenced environments compared with A2.
