About the 1111345 Cap Head Screw, M3x30 DIN 912
This is an M3 x 30 mm hexagon socket head cap screw specified to DIN 912 in A2 stainless steel. DIN 912 covers the cylindrical-head cap screw with an internal hexagon drive; its international successor is ISO 4762, and the two standards share the same head diameter, head height and socket dimensions across the common sizes, so they are treated as functionally interchangeable in routine engineering use. ISO 4762 covers coarse-pitch threads from M1.6 to M64 at product grade A. At M3 the coarse thread pitch is 0.5 mm. A2 denotes austenitic stainless steel — the standard general-purpose corrosion-resistant fastener material, suited to indoor and mildly corrosive environments but not to the chloride exposure that would call for A4. The internal hex drive allows the screw to be torqued in a counterbore where nothing can grip the outside of the head, which is the usual reason for selecting this head form over a hex-flange or pan-head screw.
