About the Set Screw Hex Socket M2x3mm SS
ISO 4026 specifies hexagon socket set screws with a flat point, covering metric coarse-pitch threads from M1.6 to M30 in steel and M1.6 to M24 in stainless steel, to product grade A. This item is the M2 x 3 mm size in A2 stainless steel, one of the two corrosion-resistant grades (A2 and A4) listed against the standard alongside steel property class 45H. In the M2 size the standard gives a coarse thread pitch of 0.4 mm, a hexagon socket width across flats of 0.9 mm nominal, and a point diameter of 0.75 mm to 1.00 mm. A set screw of this type is headless and fully threaded, driven entirely from the internal hexagon socket, so it can be seated flush with or below the surface of the part it retains. The flat point bears on the mating surface without biting into it, which suits repeated adjustment.
