Description
RJX3337-M3X6MM STANDOFF; HEX M3 X 6MM — BOLTON SKU 55175.
About the RJX3337-M3X6MM Hex Standoff, M3 x 6 mm
The RJX3337 range from RJXHOBBY consists of aluminium alloy hexagonal standoff pillars, threaded female M3 at both ends, used to space and support stacked plates and boards. The hexagonal body has an across-flats dimension of 5 mm, allowing a small spanner or nut driver to hold the pillar while a screw is tightened from either end. The range covers lengths from 6 mm to 60 mm and is finished by anodising, with several colour options offered by the manufacturer. This item is the 6 mm length. Aluminium standoffs of this type are chosen over steel where mass matters and over polymer where a rigid, dimensionally stable spacer is needed; the anodised finish provides a hard, insulating surface layer, although a standoff should not be treated as an insulator for electrical design purposes.

Typical applications
Threaded standoffs are used to build stacked electronics assemblies, flight controller and power distribution boards, camera and payload mounts and airframe plate sandwiches on multirotor and fixed-wing UAVs. They also serve in general enclosure and bracket work where boards must be held clear of a base plate. Workshops hold a range of lengths as consumable build hardware.
