About the TZe-FX221 Flexible Label Tape, 9 mm Black
The TZe-FX221 is a Brother flexible ID label tape cartridge carrying 9 mm wide tape on an 8 m roll, printing black characters on a white background. It sits in the flexible ID line within the TZe family: the tape is produced by the same laminated process as standard TZe stock, but uses a specially formulated adhesive designed to bond to itself as well as to the laminate surface. That self-bonding property is what allows a label to be wrapped fully around a cable or tube and closed onto its own tail, or wrapped and folded outwards into a flag, without the free end lifting away. The laminated construction places the printed layer between films rather than on the outer surface, so the print is shielded from abrasion and handling. The manufacturer positions the tape for wrapping around items and for labelling cylindrical surfaces such as cables and PVC piping.

Typical applications
Flexible ID tape is used where a label has to follow a curved or small-diameter surface instead of sitting on a flat panel: cable and harness identification, individual wire marking, conduit and pipe labelling, and flagged tails on loom branches.
