About the Flat Washer M3 A2 Stainless Steel
This is a plain washer to ISO 7089 in the M3 size, made in A2 stainless steel. ISO 7089 is the normal-series flat washer standard in product grade A, and for M3 it sets a 3.2 mm inside diameter, a 7 mm outside diameter and a nominal thickness of 0.5 mm. At that thickness the washer acts as much like a thin shim as a load spreader, and its 0.5 mm should be counted into the grip when a short M3 screw is being selected, because a single washer can absorb a meaningful share of the available thread engagement. Its function under the fastener is to give a flat, parallel bearing surface, to keep the turning head or nut from marking or galling the assembled part, and to spread clamp load slightly wider than the head alone. A2 is the general-purpose chromium-nickel austenitic grade in ISO 3506, non-magnetic in the annealed condition and appropriate for indoor and mildly corrosive service.

Typical applications
M3 plain washers are used across small-format assembly: PCB and standoff mounting, sensor and camera brackets, small covers and access plates, connector and gland hardware, and instrument panel fixings. The 7 mm outside diameter clears most M3 screw heads by a useful margin without fouling adjacent components on a crowded panel. A2 stainless suits indoor electronics and instrumentation assemblies, where a plated washer could shed particles into the surrounding build.
