Description
OLFA L-1 MULTI PURPOSE CUTTER 18mm LB — BOLTON SKU 62586.
About the OLFA L-1 Utility Cutter, 18mm Snap-Off Blade
The L-1 OLFA utility cutter is OLFA’s general-duty 18 mm snap-off knife, described by the manufacturer as a multipurpose utility knife intended to handle a variety of jobs. It runs the 18 mm snap-off blade format, which is the wider and stiffer of OLFA’s two mainstream widths and is designated LB in the blade range; a solid-blade variant of the same body is catalogued separately as the L-1/SOL. Blade position is held by a ratchet lock, so the exposed length is set in fixed steps and stays put under side load rather than creeping back into the handle. As a snap-off design the blade is advanced and the dulled front segment broken off along a score line, which restores a fresh cutting edge without changing the blade. Blades are consumable and ordered separately.

Typical applications
The 18 mm width and ratchet lock suit the deeper, heavier cuts that a snap-off knife is asked to make in a workshop or stores environment: opening cartons and crates, trimming foam and packaging inserts, cutting insulation board, carpet, gasket sheet, plastic sheet and shrink film. Because the blade extends in locked steps, it is also used where depth control matters — scoring rather than cutting through a laminate, or reaching into a recess. It is a hand tool for cutting operations only and is not a stripping or termination tool.
