Hexagon Head Bolt M6x35 Class 8.8 Steel ISO 4014 — BOLTON SKU 56357.
About the Hexagon Head Bolt M6x35 Class 8.8
The ISO 4014 M6x35-Class 8 8 designation identifies a hexagon head bolt with a plain shank, made to ISO 4014 in product grades A and B. Unlike ISO 4017 screws, which are threaded to the head, ISO 4014 bolts carry an unthreaded shank under the head: for M6 the thread length b is 18 mm, derived from the standard rule b = 2d + 6 for lengths up to 125 mm, leaving the balance of the 35 mm length as plain shank. The thread is M6 with the 1 mm coarse pitch. The head measures 10 mm across the flats and 4 mm high, so it is driven with a 10 mm spanner or socket. Property class 8.8 sets the mechanical grade of the steel; the bolt is supplied as plain steel, so the finish should be confirmed for the intended environment.

Typical applications
The plain shank makes this bolt suitable for M6 joints where the unthreaded portion is meant to sit in the clearance hole and take shear, rather than presenting thread flanks to the hole wall. With an 18 mm thread length against a 35 mm overall length, it is dimensioned for grip thicknesses of roughly 17 mm and below once nut and washer stack are allowed for. Common in machine frames, brackets and general steelwork assembled with 10 mm spanners.
