The ISO4762 M6x25-A4 screw M6x25 socket head cap is a hexagon socket head cap screw made to ISO 4762, the standard covering coarse-pitch socket cap screws from M1.6 to M64. The thread is M6 with the 1 mm coarse pitch and the nominal length is 25 mm. Per ISO 4762 the M6 head measures 10 mm maximum in diameter and 6 mm maximum high, and the hexagon socket takes a 5 mm key. Thread tolerance for the standard grades is 6g. The material designation A4 identifies a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel, chosen over A2 where chloride exposure is expected. The cylindrical head is designed to be dropped into a counterbore so it finishes flush or below the surface, and the internal drive means the screw can be tightened in positions where a spanner could not be swung.
