Hexagon Nut M8-A4 Steel Grade A ISO 4032 — BOLTON SKU 56542.
About the Hexagon Nut M8-A4 Steel Grade
The ISO 4032 M8-A4 ISO 4032 designation identifies a style 1 hexagon nut of regular height made to ISO 4032 in product grades A and B. The thread is M8 with the 1.25 mm coarse pitch and a 6H tolerance class, so it mates with standard M8 coarse-thread bolts and socket screws. Across the flats the nut measures 13 mm nominal, with a minimum width across corners of 14.38 mm, and the nut height is 6.80 mm maximum and 6.44 mm minimum. A4 is the ISO material designation for a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel, which is specified in place of A2 where salt or chloride exposure would risk pitting. The nut is supplied plain and uncoated, so no plating thickness has to be allowed for in the thread fit.

Typical applications
The nut half of M8 coarse-thread joints on equipment, frames and fittings exposed to marine or washdown conditions. Its 13 mm across-flats size shares a spanner with many M8 hexagon bolt heads, which simplifies the tool set on assembly. The full regular height gives enough engaged thread for load-carrying service rather than the reduced height of a thin or jam nut, and it is normally paired with A4 M8 screws and washers.
