About the Blind Rivet Nut Knurled Flanged M3x9.8
This nut blind rivet knurled flg item is an M3 blind rivet nut with a knurled body, a flanged head and a nominal length of 9.8 mm, supplied in GI (galvanised steel) as designated on the item record. A blind rivet nut is installed entirely from one side of a panel: the tool draws a mandrel through the internal thread so that the unthreaded rear section of the body collapses and forms a bulb behind the sheet, clamping the fastener in place and leaving a load-bearing M3 thread. This makes it the standard answer where sheet metal, tube or a closed section is too thin to tap and there is no access to the back face. The knurled outer body bites into the wall of the drilled hole and resists rotation when the mating screw is tightened, and the flanged head bears against the panel face to spread the setting load.

Typical applications
M3 rivet nuts are set into sheet-metal enclosures, chassis panels, tubular frames, ducting and trim sections so that covers, brackets and small equipment can be bolted on and removed repeatedly. The flanged head suits flat panel faces where a slight standing head is acceptable, and the knurl is appropriate for steel and aluminium sheet rather than soft or brittle parent material. Correct hole diameter and grip range for the panel thickness should be confirmed before setting.
