Description
Jonard Tools ST-550 ABS Adjustable Precision Wire Stripper, 18-28 AWG — BOLTON SKU 66493.
About the Jonard ST-550 Wire Stripper, 18-28 AWG
The ST-550 precision wire stripper is a Jonard Tools hand stripper for fine wire from 18 down to 28 AWG. A rotary adjustment gives six preset positions across that range, and a single squeeze-and-pull action brings four blades onto the insulation so it is cut cleanly and the bond between insulation and conductor is broken before the slug is pulled off. An adjustable stop sets a repeatable strip length anywhere from 0.039 in to 2.0 in, which is what makes the tool suited to production and rework where every termination must be prepared to the same dimension. The blades are hardened steel at RC58 and the housing is ABS. The complete tool measures about 3.9 by 1.6 by 0.6 in and weighs roughly one ounce, so it is carried in a shirt pocket or a technician’s kit.

Typical applications
This stripper is used on signal, control and instrumentation wiring, ribbon and hook-up wire, and small-gauge harness conductors where a general-purpose stripper would nick the strands. The repeatable length stop suits crimp and solder-cup terminations that call for a controlled strip dimension. Its low weight and pocket size make it a field and bench tool for communications, electronics and panel-wiring work.
