Description
ISO 4762 Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screw M4x25 Steel — BOLTON SKU 69198.
About the ISO 4762 Hexagon Socket Head Cap
ISO 4762 is the product-grade-A standard for hexagon socket head cap screws, equivalent to DIN 912. The M4 head data is fixed by the standard at 7.00 mm maximum head diameter, 4.00 mm maximum head height and a 3 mm hexagon socket, on an M4 x 0.7 coarse thread; this item is the 25 mm nominal length in steel. At 25 mm the screw is long enough to pass through two stacked plates, or through a plate plus a spacer, and still take a useful thread engagement in the tapped part beneath. Longer M4 screws in this standard are normally supplied with a plain shank below the head, so check whether your joint needs full thread engagement along its length. Property class and finish are set per order.

Typical applications
The 25 mm length suits stacked-plate assemblies — standoff-mounted electronics trays, sandwiched gasket joints, spacer-mounted fans and heatsinks, and brackets shimmed off a chassis. It is also the length reached for when a 20 mm screw leaves too few threads engaged after a washer and a gasket are added to the stack.
