About the ISO 7089 Plain Washer 3×7 Steel
ISO 7089 specifies plain washers in the normal series, product grade A, with a hardness class of 200 HV. In the nominal size 3 the standard gives a 3.2 mm inside diameter, a 7.0 mm maximum outside diameter and a 0.5 mm nominal thickness (0.45 mm to 0.55 mm). The 3.2 mm bore is a clearance fit over an M3 screw or bolt, and the flat, parallel-faced form spreads the clamping load over a wider bearing area than the screw head alone. Grade A denotes the tighter of the two ISO product grades for washers, with closer dimensional tolerances and a better surface finish than the grade C series, which matters when the washer has to sit square under a small screw head. Material variant and any plating are set per order.

Typical applications
An M3-clearance washer this small is used under screw heads and nuts on light panels, PCB standoffs, cable cleats and instrument brackets, where the 7 mm outside diameter keeps the bearing face clear of neighbouring components. At 0.5 mm thick it also serves as a thin spacer or shim to take up a fraction of a millimetre in a fastener stack.
