About the ISO 4762 Hexagon Socket Head Cap
ISO 4762 is the product-grade-A international standard for hexagon socket head cap screws, equivalent to DIN 912. In the M6 size it fixes a head diameter of 10.00 mm maximum and a head height of 6.00 mm maximum, driven by a 5 mm hexagon socket, on an M6 x 1.0 coarse thread. This item is the 25 mm nominal length in steel. M6 is the smallest size in this family that is routinely treated as a structural fixing, and the 5 mm key allows meaningful preload to be applied with a short T-handle or a torque wrench.
