About the Engineer DK-14 6pc Metric Nut Driver
The DK-14 nut driver set is a six-piece metric hex nut driver kit from ENGINEER INC. of Japan, covering 3.0, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 mm across flats. The socket heads are magnetised so a nut is retained while it is offered up or withdrawn, and they are made slim so the driver can reach nuts recessed in confined spaces. Each handle carries a rotating top cap, allowing the driver to be spun with one hand while the cap is steadied with a finger. The socket is chromium-molybdenum steel and the shaft is chrome-vanadium steel. The set is supplied in a self-standing holder so the six sizes remain sorted on the bench, and the handles are finished in green. ENGINEER INC. has manufactured precision hand tools in Japan since 1948.

Typical applications
The 3.0 to 6.0 mm range covers the small hex nuts and standoffs used in electronics assembly, connector backshells, instrument panels and control boxes, where a socket wrench would be too coarse. Magnetised slim heads help when a nut must be started in a blind or crowded recess and cannot be held by hand. The rotating cap makes long thread runs on standoffs and pillars quicker than a plain fixed handle.
