ISO 4762 Screw M6x20 — BOLTON SKU 53223.
About the ISO 4762 Screw M6x20
ISO 4762 is the international standard for hexagon socket head cap screws with coarse-pitch threads, from M1.6 to M64, in product grade A. The catalogue reference iso_4762_screw_m6x20 identifies the M6 × 20 mm size: an M6 coarse thread with a 1 mm pitch and a 20 mm nominal length measured under the head. For M6, the standard gives a head diameter of 10.00 mm maximum, a head height of 6.0 mm maximum and minimum 5.7 mm, and a 5 mm nominal hexagon socket. The cylindrical head and internal drive allow the screw to be seated in a counterbore below the surface of the joint. ISO 4762 permits steel property classes 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 and stainless grades A2 and A4; the grade for this line is confirmed at quotation.

Typical applications
M6 × 20 mm is a general machine-assembly size, used for bolting brackets, covers, motor and gearbox flanges and machined blocks where a through-hole and tapped hole combination is around 20 mm deep. The 5 mm hexagon drive delivers higher torque than a cross-recess screw of the same size without the risk of cam-out, and the small head footprint suits joints where there is little room for a hexagon-headed bolt and a spanner.
