About the FR26 Tylaska Fixing Rings, C-Shape
This item is the Tylaska FR26, a machined aluminium low-friction ring: a grooved C-section ferrule rather than a plain flat ring, the groove taking the strop that holds the ring in place. Published dimensions are a 38.1 mm inner diameter, a 96 mm outer diameter, a 26.4 mm groove width and 38.3 mm overall width, at a weight of approximately 289 g. Maximum working line size is 26 mm diameter. Tylaska specifies 6061 aluminium with a hard-coat anodised finish for the range. Instead of turning a sheave, the working line slides on the smooth inner surface of the ring, which removes the bearings, side plates and pins of a conventional block along with the parts most likely to fail or foul.
