About the Oil Drain Pan 10L Matte Thermoplastic
This item is a 10-litre thermoplastic oil drain pan with a matte finish, used to catch and carry drained fluids during servicing. A moulded thermoplastic body is chosen over pressed steel for this duty because it does not corrode when left in contact with used oil, coolant or solvent residues, and because a moulded tray can carry an integral pouring lip and grip without welded or seamed joints that could eventually leak. It is also lighter to lift and pour when full. The 10-litre capacity covers a typical engine, gearbox or small hydraulic reservoir drain in one pass, so the pan does not need emptying mid-job. A matte surface reduces glare under workshop lighting and hides scuffing in service. External dimensions, wall thickness and any spout or drain-plug arrangement should be confirmed against the manufacturer drawing at quotation, since a stated capacity does not fix the footprint or depth.

Typical applications
Drain pans of this capacity are used for engine and gearbox oil changes, hydraulic reservoir draining and filter changes on vehicles, generator sets and ground-support equipment. The shallow open tray also serves as a catch basin placed under a leaking component during fault diagnosis. Collected fluid should be transferred to a labelled waste container for disposal in line with site procedure.
