The Erem 812N Cutter Large Oval Semi-Flush tool (812N) is a maxi-size precision side cutter from the Weller Erem 800 series, built for general cutting of the larger wire diameters met in electronics work. It has a large oval head with a semi-flush cutting edge, an overall length of 121 mm (4.75 in), and is ESD-safe with a non-reflecting surface. The cutting edges are made from high-grade tool steel hardened to 63–65 HRC and are resharpenable. Published capacity figures are up to 0.07 in (approx. 1.6 mm) in copper wire and 0.047 in in hard wire, with a cutting edge length of about 0.59 in. The semi-flush geometry trades a small pinch ridge on the cut face for longer edge life than full-flush patterns.
