Description
Button Head Hex Socket Screw M4 x 8 A2 Stainless Steel Full Thread ISO 7380-1 — BOLTON SKU 53355.
About the Button Head Hex Socket Screw M4
ISO 7380-1 defines button head screws with a low, domed head and an internal hexagon drive. This Button Head Hex Socket Screw M4 variant carries the standard metric coarse thread for M4 (0.7 mm pitch), is 8 mm long and is fully threaded to the head, allowing clamping in thin or short-grip joints. It is driven with a 2.5 mm hexagon key, the socket size ISO 7380-1 assigns to the M4 size. The material is A2 austenitic stainless steel (304-type), giving good resistance to atmospheric corrosion without plating. The wide, low-profile dome head spreads bearing load over a larger area than a cylindrical cap head of the same thread size while protruding less above the surface. Button heads are intended for light- to medium-duty clamping; where maximum preload matters, a deeper-socket cap head screw is normally preferred — a known trade-off of the button head form.

This short, fully threaded M4 size suits fastening thin panels, covers, guards and small brackets where a low, snag-free head is preferred over a protruding cap screw. The A2 stainless finish makes it a common choice on enclosures and fixtures exposed to humid or unconditioned environments.
