About the LN9338-06 K Lock Nut, M6
The LN9338-06 K LOCK NUT M6 is manufactured to DIN LN 9338, a German aerospace (Luftfahrtnorm) standard covering self-locking hexagon nuts with an integral washer face for service temperatures up to 235 °C. Nuts of this pattern are widely known as K-nuts: a compact, reduced-height hexagon nut whose built-in flange spreads the bearing load without a separate washer, with a prevailing-torque self-locking feature that resists rotation under vibration. The -06 dash number corresponds to the M6 thread size given in the designation. Material and surface-finish options exist within the LN 9338 family, so BOLTON recommends confirming the plating and material condition against the delivery documentation, which can be requested with your RFQ. As with other prevailing-torque aerospace nuts, run-down torque is normally checked at installation and the nut replaced once its locking feature no longer meets the specified minimum.
