Description
Hex Nylock Nut M4, 7 mm A/F, Steel Class 8, Zinc Plated, DIN 985 / ISO 10511 — BOLTON SKU 55351.
About the Hex Nylock Nut M4, 7 mm A/F
DIN 985 / ISO 10511 defines prevailing-torque hexagon nuts with a non-metallic (nylon) locking insert. This Hex Nylock Nut M4 7 mm across-flats size carries the standard metric coarse thread for M4 (0.7 mm pitch) and is made from property class 8 steel with a zinc-plated finish. When the nut is run onto its mating screw, the polyamide collar in the crown deforms around the thread and generates a continuous friction torque, so the nut holds its position under vibration and shock without a separate lock washer. Because the locking action is frictional, the mating thread is not deformed, and the 7 mm hexagon is driven with standard small spanners and sockets during assembly and removal. Unlike adhesive threadlockers, the insert needs no cure time and the joint is serviceable immediately after assembly.

Typical applications
The M4 size is the step up from miniature electronics fastening into light mechanical work: retaining guards, sensor brackets, hinges and sheet-metal joints on machinery and vehicle equipment that vibrate in service. Paired with M4 bolts through clearance holes, it gives a locked joint that can still be disassembled for maintenance.
