Description
Hex Socket Cap Head Screw M3x40 Stainless Steel PT A2 — BOLTON SKU 56307.
About the Hex Socket Cap Head Screw M3x40 Stainless
This Hex Socket Cap Head Screw M3x40 is the 40 mm-long variant of BOLTON’s A2 stainless M3 cap-screw hardware, with an M3 × 0.5 coarse thread and a partially threaded (‘PT’) shank as designated. The extra length suits deeper stacked joints — spacers, standoffs and thick housings — where a shorter screw would leave too little thread engagement at the far side. Because the shank is only partly threaded, the plain portion passes through the clearance components while the thread engages the nut or tapped hole at the end of the joint. The internal-hexagon cap head is driven with an Allen key and needs only a small counterbore rather than spanner clearance around the head. A2 (304-type) austenitic stainless steel provides corrosion resistance without plating for indoor and general outdoor service, keeping the fastener serviceable in humid climates.
