Description
ISO 4017 Hexagon Head Screw M6x16-A4 — BOLTON SKU 56550.
About the ISO 4017 Hexagon Head Screw M6x16-A4
The ISO 4017 Hexagon Head Screw M6x16-A4 is a fully threaded hexagon head screw with an M6 coarse thread (1.0 mm pitch) and a nominal length of 16 mm, made in A4 austenitic stainless steel. ISO 4017 covers hexagon head screws threaded up to the head, so effectively the whole 16 mm length is available for engagement in a nut or tapped hole. The M6 head takes a 10 mm spanner or socket across flats and has a head height of 4 mm. A4 is the molybdenum-alloyed austenitic stainless grade family of ISO 3506 (316 type), which offers improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-bearing environments compared with A2. The external hexagon drive suits standard spanners, sockets and torque tooling where access from above or the side is available.

Typical applications
Fully threaded M6 hexagon screws of this length are typical general-assembly fasteners for brackets, guards, flanged joints and equipment frames where a nut or short tapped engagement is used. The A4 stainless grade makes this variant appropriate where washdown, coastal or otherwise chloride-exposed conditions would corrode plain or zinc-plated steel.
