Description
ISO 7380 Hexagon Socket Button Head Screw M4x12-A4 — BOLTON SKU 56938.
About the ISO 7380 Hexagon Socket Button Head Screw
An M4 x 12 mm button head socket screw in A4 stainless steel to the ISO 7380 series (hexagon socket button head screws with reduced loadability). The M4 size uses a 0.7 mm coarse pitch, a 7.6 mm diameter domed head standing 2.2 mm proud of the surface, and a 2.5 mm hex key drive. Compared with the 16 mm sibling BOLTON also lists, this 12 mm length is the tidier option for thin-panel joints and shallow tapped bosses, keeping thread protrusion to a minimum. As a reduced-loadability design, the ISO 7380 Hexagon Socket Button Head pattern accepts less torque and preload than a full-height cap screw of the same thread, so it is selected for finish, clearance and safety-to-touch rather than structural clamping. The A4 material class is the molybdenum-bearing 316-type austenitic stainless of ISO 3506, resisting chloride pitting better than A2.
