Description
Hex Cap Head Screw M3x12 A4 Stainless Steel DIN 912 — BOLTON SKU 57574.
About the Hex Cap Head Screw M3x12 A4 Stainless
The Hex Cap Head Screw M3x12 A4 is a miniature hexagon socket head cap screw in A4 stainless steel to DIN 912, the German designation dimensionally interchangeable with ISO 4762. At M3 the coarse thread pitch is 0.5 mm, the cylindrical head measures 5.5 mm in maximum diameter and 3 mm in height, and the screw is driven by a 2.5 mm hex key. The 12 mm nominal length equals four thread diameters, giving strong engagement margins in tapped aluminium or steel components. The cap-screw format packs the highest drive capability of the small socket-screw styles: the deep socket and full-height head accept more torque than button or countersunk equivalents of the same thread. A4 (316-type, molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless) is the grade normally selected when chloride pitting is a risk — marine-adjacent sites, chemical splash zones and frequent washdown.
