Description
Ideal 45-1610 Custom Stripmaster Wire Stripper, 16-26 AWG — BOLTON SKU 59406.
About the Ideal 45-1610 Stripmaster Stripper, 16-26 AWG
The Ideal 45-1610 Custom Stripmaster Wire Stripper is a precision production stripper from IDEAL Industries covering 16-26 AWG solid and stranded wire. It uses die-type blades in which an inner cutting hole is sized to the conductor and a counter-bored opening is sized to the insulation, so the insulation is severed and removed in one squeeze-action stroke without nicking the conductor. The tool is built on a lightweight die-cast zinc frame with a spring-action mechanism that adds leverage and reduces operator effort in repetitive stripping, and the handles are cushioned for production use. IDEAL lists the 45-1610 as meeting SAE-AS5768 and as suited to wire constructions covered by MIL-W-81044/16 and /17 and MIL-W-85485/9 and /10, which places it squarely in aerospace and defence wiring work. Blade sets and gripper pads are replaceable, so the tool can be configured to specific wire types.

Typical applications
Wire-harness fabrication and repair shops use the 45-1610 where stripped conductors must be free of nicks and scrape damage, such as airframe and avionics wiring built to MIL-spec wire standards. It is equally at home on electronics production benches handling 16-26 AWG hook-up wire, where the die-type blades keep strip quality consistent across long production runs.
