Description
Button Head Socket Screw M5x20 Stainless Steel A4 ISO 7380 — BOLTON SKU 60166.
About the Button Head Socket Screw M5x20 Stainless Steel
This Button Head Socket Screw M5x20 Stainless item is made to ISO 7380, the standard for hexagon socket button head screws. It has an M5 x 0.8 coarse metric thread and 20 mm nominal length beneath a low, domed button head — for M5 the standard defines a 9.5 mm head diameter of low profile, driven by a 3 mm hex key. The button form trades the deep socket and high tightening torque of a cylindrical cap head for a smooth, rounded, snag-free appearance that stands only slightly proud of the surface, making it the usual choice for exposed faces, guards and covers. The wide head also spreads bearing load over a larger area than a countersunk screw without needing a chamfered hole. Material is A4 austenitic stainless steel, the molybdenum-bearing 316-type grade with enhanced resistance to chlorides and acidic media, suiting marine, coastal and chemically exposed assemblies.

Typical applications
Button head screws of this size secure panels, guards, covers and trim where fastener heads remain visible or where a snag-free dome is preferred over a protruding cap head — and the A4 grade extends that use to marine and wash-down environments. They are common on enclosures and frames built from sheet and extrusion where appearance and corrosion resistance both matter.
