Description
Hex Socket Head Cap Screw M2x5, Stainless Steel A4-80, ISO 4762 — BOLTON SKU 60790.
About the Hex Socket Head Cap Screw M2x5, Stainless
This Hex Socket Head Cap Screw M2x5 is a miniature metric fastener manufactured to ISO 4762, the international standard for hexagon socket head cap screws. It carries an M2 thread with a 0.4 mm pitch and a nominal length of 5 mm. Per the ISO 4762 dimensional table, the M2 size has a cylindrical head of 3.8 mm maximum diameter and 2 mm head height, driven by a 1.5 mm hexagon key. The material is A4 austenitic stainless steel — a molybdenum-bearing, acid-resistant grade with enhanced resistance to chlorides and marine atmospheres — in property class 80, which corresponds to a nominal tensile strength of 800 MPa under ISO 3506-1. The internal hex drive allows counterbored, flush-seated installation where external wrench clearance is not available.

Typical applications
M2 × 5 mm cap screws of this type are used for fastening small-format assemblies such as sensor housings, PCB standoffs, optical mounts and instrument covers where a compact counterbored head is needed. The A4-80 grade suits fastening points exposed to humid, coastal or chemically aggressive environments in which standard A2 hardware would be more prone to pitting.
