Description
Hex Socket Head Screw M3x8, Stainless Steel A4, ISO 4762 — BOLTON SKU 60883.
About the Hex Socket Head Screw M3x8, Stainless Steel
This Hex Socket Head Screw M3x8 Stainless steel fastener is produced to ISO 4762, the standard governing hexagon socket head cap screws. The M3 thread has a 0.5 mm pitch and the screw has a nominal length of 8 mm. ISO 4762 gives the M3 size a cylindrical head with a maximum diameter of 5.5 mm and a head height of 3 mm, driven by a 2.5 mm hexagon key — a geometry that seats flush in a counterbore and transmits installation torque through the internal drive. The A4 austenitic stainless grade contains molybdenum, giving better resistance to chlorides, salt spray and acidic media than standard A2 hardware, which is why A4 is commonly specified for marine and coastal equipment.

Typical applications
M3 × 8 mm socket head cap screws are a common fixing for equipment covers, brackets, PCB mounting pillars and small mechanism plates where a compact, high-clamp fastener is required. In A4 stainless they are chosen for assemblies operating in humid or salt-laden atmospheres, including shipboard, coastal and outdoor-installed electronics enclosures.
