The M4 Stainless Steel Split Lock Washer is a single-coil helical spring washer sized for M4 bolts and screws. The washer is a ring of spring-section stainless steel split at one point and formed into a shallow helix; when the joint is tightened the washer flattens, adding an elastic element under the fastener head or nut that helps maintain tension in the joint, while the split ends bear against the fastener and the clamped surface. Split lock washers are fitted between the nut or screw head and the bearing surface and are matched to the fastener’s nominal thread size — here M4.
