Description
ISO 4762 M2 x 8 A4-80 Stainless Steel Hex Socket Head Cap Screw — BOLTON SKU 62348.
About the ISO 4762 M2 x 8 A4-80 Stainless
This ISO 4762 M2 x 8 A4-80 fastener is a hexagon socket head cap screw with an M2 × 0.4 mm thread and an 8 mm nominal length — the longer-shank companion to the M2 × 5 size in the same catalogue family. The ISO 4762 M2 head geometry applies: a cylindrical head of 3.8 mm maximum diameter and 2 mm height with a 1.5 mm internal hexagon drive. The additional grip length of the 8 mm shank suits joints that pass through thicker components or stacked parts before engaging the tapped thread. Material is A4 austenitic stainless steel in property class 80, the higher-strength class for this grade with a nominal tensile strength of 800 MPa under ISO 3506-1, combined with A4’s molybdenum-enhanced corrosion resistance.

Typical applications
The M2 × 8 length is used where miniature fasteners must clamp through spacers, stacked PCBs or thicker housing walls — for example securing small connector shells, encoder caps or layered instrument sub-assemblies. Its A4-80 material keeps such micro-joints serviceable in humid or salt-exposed equipment where lower-grade screws would corrode and seize.
