ESAB ER70S-6 Mild Steel Welding Wire is a solid gas-metal-arc (MIG/GMAW) welding wire classified to AWS A5.18 ER70S-6, supplied here in 1.2 mm diameter on a 15 kg spool. The ER70S-6 classification is characterised by elevated manganese and silicon levels, which act as deoxidisers and allow sound welds on steels where mill scale, light rust or surface residues cannot be fully removed before welding. The higher silicon content also increases weld-pool fluidity, producing a smooth bead profile that reduces post-weld finishing. ER70S-6 wires are run with carbon-dioxide or argon/CO2 shielding-gas mixtures.
