About the Torx Socket Pan Head Screw, M3x12, A2
This Torx Socket Pan Head Screw M3x12 is made to WN 1452, a widely referenced works standard for PT-style thread-forming pan head screws with a hexalobular (Torx) drive, designed to form their own thread directly in thermoplastic components. This item is the 3.0 mm nominal diameter size in a 12 mm length, produced in A2 austenitic stainless steel for corrosion resistance. Thread-forming screws of this type cut no chips: the special thread profile displaces the plastic as it drives, producing a vibration-resistant assembly that can typically be unscrewed and re-driven a limited number of times into the same boss. The comparatively long 12 mm engagement suits deeper bosses and thicker mouldings where extra thread contact is needed for pull-out strength.
