Description
Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screw M3 x 16, Stainless Steel A2, Full Thread — BOLTON SKU 68911.
About the 1233149 Socket Head Cap Screw, M3
This Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screw M3 x 16 carries an ISO metric M3 coarse thread (0.5 mm pitch) at a 16 mm nominal length, and is threaded along its entire length. Full threading lets the screw engage a nut or tapped hole at any grip length up to 16 mm, which is why fully threaded small cap screws are the default for electronics and light-mechanical stack-ups of varying thickness. The head is the cylindrical socket-cap form driven by an internal hexagon key, allowing recessed, flush mounting in counterbores and controlled tightening in confined clusters of fasteners. Material is A2 austenitic stainless steel, the 18/8 chromium-nickel grade of the ISO 3506 fastener system, chosen for corrosion resistance in normal atmospheres without plating or passivating coatings that could flake in service.

Typical applications
M3 x 16 fully threaded cap screws are typical in instrument cases, sensor mounts, connector backshell clamps and multi-board electronic assemblies, where the 16 mm length passes through several thin layers into a tapped chassis. The A2 grade avoids rust staining on visible equipment surfaces.
