This Flat Washer M8 Mild Steel is a plain circular washer sized for M8 bolts, screws and studding — its clearance bore passes an 8 mm nominal fastener and its flat annular face spreads the clamping load of the bolt head or nut over a larger area of the joint surface. That load-spreading action protects painted, soft or thin materials from embedment, bridges slightly oversized or slotted holes, and gives the turning fastener a smooth, consistent bearing face so tightening torque translates more predictably into preload. Mild (low-carbon) steel matches the ungraded M8 mild steel bolts and nuts stocked alongside this washer, keeping the whole joint in one material family. Washers are normally fitted under the nut at minimum, and under both head and nut when the joint surface needs protection on both sides.
