About the Insert Nut, Twill Knurled, M5 ID
This Insert Nut Twill Knurled M5 ID component is a brass threaded insert that provides a durable M5 metal thread inside a softer parent material. The outside of the insert carries a twill (diamond-pattern) knurl: when the insert is installed into a plastic boss or hole, the crossed knurl ridges bite into the surrounding material to resist both rotation during screw tightening and axial pull-out during removal. The insert measures 7.5 mm outside diameter by 7 mm length, with the M5 internal thread running through it. Brass is the conventional insert material because it machines cleanly, resists corrosion in normal indoor service and conducts heat well for thermal installation methods.
