The Makita TB131 Drill Press 13 mm bench machine is a compact drill press with a 13 mm (1/2 in) chuck driven by a 250 W motor. Manufacturer data lists five spindle-speed settings — 570 to 2,670 rpm on 50 Hz supplies and 690 to 3,200 rpm on 60 Hz supplies — allowing the speed to be matched to bit diameter and workpiece material. Rated drilling capacities are 13 mm in steel and 24 mm in wood. The machine carries a work table that can be tilted 45 degrees to the left or right for angled drilling, weighs approximately 20 kg and is supplied with a 1.75 m power cord. As a bench-format machine it bolts to a workbench to give repeatable, square holes that are difficult to achieve freehand.
