This 8 Piece Carbide Burr Set 6mm shank kit contains eight tungsten carbide rotary files with double-cut flute geometry, each mounted on a 6 mm (1/4 in) shank for use in die grinders and compatible rotary tools. Tungsten carbide holds a cutting edge at hardness levels well above high-speed steel, which is why carbide burrs are the usual choice for stock removal on steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. Double-cut burrs have two intersecting sets of flutes: this geometry breaks swarf into smaller chips, reduces loading and grabbing, and gives the operator more control than a single-cut pattern. A multi-piece set provides a range of head shapes so the profile can be matched to the feature being worked.
