The Pro Tool 5542 Roloc Disc Pad holder is a 2 in (50 mm) backing pad for Roloc-style threaded quick-change abrasive discs, mounted on a 1/4 in shank that fits standard die grinder and drill collets. Distributor listings describe the construction as a rubber backing pad on an aluminium core with a removable nickel-plated steel shank, rated for operation up to 20,000 rpm. The Roloc-type twist-on interface lets the operator swap sanding, surface-conditioning, blending and bristle discs in seconds without tools, which is the main reason this holder format is standard in metal-finishing work.
