ISO 4014 Bolt M6x50 Steel — BOLTON SKU 53221.
About the ISO 4014 Bolt M6x50 Steel
The ISO 4014 Bolt M6x50 Steel is a hexagon head bolt manufactured to ISO 4014, the international standard covering hex head bolts with a plain (unthreaded) shank portion — the partially threaded counterpart to the fully threaded screws of ISO 4017. This bolt has an M6 metric coarse thread (1.0 mm pitch) and a nominal length of 50 mm measured under the head. Under ISO 4014 the M6 size carries a 10 mm width-across-flats hexagon head, driven with standard 10 mm spanners and sockets. The plain shank left between the head and the threaded portion is the functional point of the standard: it lets the bolt bear in the joint on an unthreaded cylindrical surface. Material is stated as steel; the property class marking should be confirmed on delivered goods where a specific grade is required.

M6x50 hex bolts are general-purpose fasteners for machine assemblies, brackets, frames and clamped joints where the fastener passes through clearance holes into a nut or tapped member. The plain shank of the ISO 4014 pattern is preferred where the bolt crosses the joint line in thicker stacked parts.
