Overview
The Vac Valve 406 TF is a machined stainless steel vacuum bag valve built as two pieces: a threaded base plate and a threaded top piece that passes through the bag film and screws into the base. The base carries a machined raised ring that provides an additional sealing mechanism, and the seal in the unit is fabricated from high-temperature silicone. BOLTON lists the 1/4 inch NPT valve under part number VV4061/4.

Applications
Vacuum bag valves of this type connect a sealed vacuum bag to the vacuum line during composite lay-up and cure. The base is placed under the bag film, a small cut is made in the film over the opening in the base plate, and the top piece is threaded down onto it, so the valve suits bagging work on tooling, repair schemes and production lay-ups.
