This Solid Carbide Fiberglass Router Diamond Coated cutter is a Series 700 tool with a 3 mm cutting diameter, 38 mm overall length and 12 mm flute length. Glass-fibre laminates are highly abrasive to cutting edges, which is why fibreglass routers combine a solid tungsten carbide body with a diamond coating that resists abrasive wear far longer than an uncoated edge in these materials. The burr-style router geometry is made for trimming and slotting fibre-reinforced plastics, shearing the fibres cleanly to limit fraying and delamination at the cut edge. At 3 mm diameter with a short 12 mm flute, this size is the detail cutter of the range: it follows tight radii and produces narrow slots and small cut-outs that larger-diameter routers cannot reach.
