Part 98432A112 is the 4 mm diameter x 20 mm long member of the flat-vent pull-out dowel pin range in 18-8 stainless steel, sitting between the 16 mm and other lengths offered on the same 4 mm diameter. A flat machined along the pin shaft vents trapped air from blind holes during installation, so the pin presses in without pneumatic resistance and does not creep back out; compared with a spiral-grooved vent, the flat is harder to block with debris though it holds slightly less firmly. The internally tapped end accepts a screw or removal tool, allowing controlled extraction from a blind hole without rear access. 18-8 stainless steel gives corrosion resistance for wet and outdoor service and tolerates common workshop cleaners and degreasers, which suits tooling that is cleaned regularly.
